James Armstrong (1886-1965) hailed from Glasslacken, Bunclody, County Wexford, located at the foot of Mount Leinster. A stonemason by trade, he took great pride in his work and some of it, such as Calvary and the stone walls at Kiltealy cemetery, and the Holy Year Cross at Knockroe, can still be seen today. James, who loved to smoke his pipe, enjoyed writing poetry, songs and short stories in his spare time, and through the years some of his work was published in the local and national press.
Published in 2010 by the Armstrong family, with editing, layout and design by Paul, this is a collection of James’ work as selected by his family.
